Core Activities

Being a sub set of Child Welfare and Adoption Society, the core activities below are a bit similar with those listed under CWAS Head Office

• Admitting vulnerable children with unknown relatives or those with different challenges at the recommendation of Probation Offciers.
• Tracing for the parents/ relatives of the abandoned children transferred from Nsambya Babies Home and those from other sources.
• Fostering by placing children with suitable foster parents who intend to take over children on a long term fostering period or adoption.
• Following up on the resettled/re-unified children, or those on outreach program in order to establish the situation on ground.
• Sensitizing the public on dangers of child neglect and abandonment in order to create awareness of good parenting skills, family and child protection.
• Providing education to children both in care and those on outreach program majorly in primary level.
• Fundraising for the activities of the Home.
• Networking with partners who have similar interests and objectives for vulnerable children.
• Reporting child care activities to the relevant authorities such as, Ministry of Gender Labour and Social Development, Probation Officers, CWAS Head Office, etc.
• Keeping records of all children who have gone through the Home.
• Running different projects to support the Home.
